FAQS
What can I expect from a home visit?
When I visit your home for a Reiki session, I’ll bring everything needed to create a calming and nurturing environment. I would normally bring a treatment couch and blankets for you to lie down and relax. If you have any mobility issues that means lying down is not ideal, we can adjust accordingly and use a chair or any other means that ensures your optimal comfort and ease. If you have a quiet space somewhere away from any noise that is ideal.
If you’d like, I can use sage or palo santo to gently cleanse the space before we begin. I may also bring crystals to support the healing process and oracle cards if you wish for gentle guidance afterward.
We would always have conversation before your treatment to assess any needs in that moment. All you need to do is wear something comfortable and allow yourself to relax — I’ll guide you through the rest.
A usual reiki session would last between 45mins - 1 hour, with a little extra time always allowed for pre treatment conversation, also a period to gently ground back in yourself after treatment and the optional extra of oracle card and pre prepared cacao.

Many people report feeling warmth, coolness, tingling, seeing colours and visual affects with the eyes closed, deep relaxation, or simply a sense of peace during and after the session. It is enjoyable to relax and let these feelings come and go, acknowledging them as they pass through us and make a mental note of how you felt in certain areas of the treatment.
How does Distance Reiki work?

Reiki energy is not bound by physical location — it flows wherever it’s needed. For distance sessions, we’ll agree on a time for your treatment. You simply find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down, close your eyes, and relax. At the same time, I will send Reiki to you, focusing on your specific needs and intentions. Many people report feeling warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or simply a sense of peace during and after the session.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that works alongside all other forms of medical or holistic care. It does not interfere with medication or treatments — instead, it supports your body’s natural healing process and helps reduce stress.
The only main times reiki should not be practiced are during surgery, or for assisting mending broken bones before they are set medically.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your personal needs. Some people feel lighter and more balanced after just one session, while others choose regular treatments to support long-term well being and take time for personal balance and healing. We can discuss what feels right for you after your first session.
Is Reiki the same as massage?
No — Reiki does not involve pressure or manipulation of muscles. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy where the practitioner places their hands lightly on or above your body. You remain fully clothed throughout the session.
Can Reiki help with medical conditions?
Reiki is a complementary therapy that supports your body’s natural ability to heal. It is not a replacement for medical care, but it can work beautifully alongside it by reducing stress, improving wellbeing, and promoting relaxation.
How should I prepare for a Reiki session?

Wear something comfortable and choose a time when you won’t be disturbed. It’s helpful to come with an open mind and perhaps set an intention for what you’d like support with — but this is not essential.

What can I expect after a session?

After Reiki, many people feel relaxed, peaceful, and re-energised. You may also feel reflective, emotional release, or a deep sense of calm. Drinking water and giving yourself some quiet time afterward can help you integrate the healing.

Reiki is simple, natural, and safe — but sometimes people aren’t sure what to expect. Here are a few common misconceptions explained:
Do I have to be spiritual or religious for Reiki to work?
Not at all. Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system. It works with the natural flow of energy in the body and is suitable for everyone, regardless of background or beliefs.

Can Reiki be harmful?
Reiki is completely safe and non-invasive. It gently supports your body’s own healing process and can be received alongside medical treatments or other holistic therapies.
